- Hogwarts Resistance is an English speaking site. Please make sure that when using the chatbox and forum topics you are communicating in English for all to read. If you wish to use a phrase in another language make sure you give the proper translation along with it.
- When using the chat box you are to be respectful to the other users. Treat others as you would like to be treated and do not bully, or call someone inappropriate names.
- Swearing is allowed but please keep the amount of swear words to a minimum. Swearing towards other users will be counted as bullying and you will be warned for it. If you are asked to stop swearing so much, or to stop using a certain word, please do not continue to use it.
- Spamming in the chat box is not allowed and will not be tolerated. Spam is considered to be four messages in a row (unless you are responding to different people at a time and make sure to tag them.
Caps is allowed however the use of more than five caps at a time will be considered spam as well.
- When an Administrator, Moderator, Head of House ask you to stop doing something in that chat, you must respect this and stop immediately. In their absence if an Ministry of Magic Worker, Professor, Prefect or Shopkeeper asks, you must also respect and stop.
- If a user is uncomfortable and asks for a topic to be changed, please respect them and change the topic. Do not argue with them or make them feel uncomfortable. If you wish to continue your conversation, you may owl the other users privately.
- If you do not agree with something another user has said, please take the conversation to owls. If you are worried about a users behavior, please owl an administrator or moderate so they can deal with it in an proper way.
Please do not talk about the use of narcotics in the chatbox. Subjects of alcohol will be tolerated but please keep it to a minimum in order to make the chat box friendly for all ages.
- Triggering events such as an eating disorder, self harm, suicide, depression, mental illnesses should not be discussed in the chat. If you ever need to talk to someone about one of those subjects you are welcome to send a message to anyone of color - they would be happy to try to help you feel better.
Mention of violence in the chat will not be tolerated.
Failure to follow the chat box rules will result in being banned from the chat box. | |
